Building Impact 2022

Benefiting Partner > New Avenues for Youth | The Living Room

Learn more about Killian Pacific's 2022 annual giving campaign, where every dollar donated was matched up to $50,000 in our inaugural year. We invite you to learn more about last year's benefiting partner, New Avenues for Youth and stay tuned on how to join us in 2023.

In 2022, we reimagined our holiday gifting practices with the creation of a new annual giving campaign: Building Impact. Rather than exchanging gifts, we encouraged our team and network to join us in a donation-matching effort focused on one of our community partner organizations. The goal is to inspire our industry and peers to join us each holiday season to spark lasting positive change for our community by giving together.

In 2022, Killian Pacific partnered with New Avenues for Youth and their LGBTQIA2S+ program, The Living Room, to support the expansion of youth services in the Portland-Metro Area.

Through our collective matching efforts, we raised $50,550

2022 Building Impact Benefiting Partner: New Avenues for Youth | The Living Room

New Avenues for Youth offers an extensive network of services through programs dedicated to advocacy, education, and wrap-around services for youth experiencing housing instability or houselessness in our community. New Avenues’ LGBTQIA2S+ programming is expanding into Clackamas County with the addition of peer-mentor support and new culturally-specific drop-in space.

Youth identifying as LGBTQIA2S+ have a 120% higher risk of experiencing some form of houselessness.

Founded in 1997, New Avenues for Youth is a Portland-based nonprofit organization dedicated to the prevention and intervention of youth homelessness. Their services for young people, ages 9–24, focus on the individual— and on helping them make positive changes in their lives. From meals and counseling to job training and housing, their equity-based services address the many barriers to stability and well-being that young people face. The Living Room is a New Avenues for Youth program that supports and celebrates LGBTQIA2S+ youth, ages 13-23, in Clackamas County.

“Young people in our community represent a promise to our future, yet housing instability and lack of supportive mental health services can challenge their ability to thrive. We’re inspired by the compassionate and intentional approach to services by New Avenues for Youth, in particular LGBTQIA2S+ youth programming, and encourage you to join us in growing their impact in our community.”
