Box Factory
Originally built in 1916, the restored Box Factory is now home to 35+ local businesses, each offering a meaningful community experience for locals and visitors in Bend, OR.
Gateway to Everything
When we purchased the longtime box factory, we saw great potential with the building and we were in love with its location between the town center and the mountains. We imagined a place where the community could gather before and after enjoying the many outdoor activities Bend has to offer.
A Factory Reborn
Halfway between Bend, Oregon’s Old Mill District and downtown sat a 100-year-old former box and crate factory with a rich history and a ton of promise. Previously operated by Brooks Scanlon Lumber, this hard-working building was the last standing factory of its kind in Bend. The central location and the great visibility caught our attention, but the building itself was showing its age. In order to keep the iconic property up and running, it needed significant maintenance and improvements. We restored the exterior, improved the site function, preserved the original woodwork and brought the buildings back up to code. Once the work was finished and the area had been returned to its former glory (and then some), we started working closely with locally-owned businesses to help them set up shop, thus unlocking the full potential of this community destination.
The Place to Be
The Box Factory has become a central hub for locals and visitors alike. You can hop between breweries, do a wine tasting, enjoy the outdoor firepits – and then come back the next morning for organic coffee and amazing breakfast.
Celebrating Local Businesses
It has always been important to us that the Box Factory be occupied by locally-owned businesses. We’re proud to say that currently, more than 35 home-grown Bend businesses including bars and restaurants, fitness studios, art, and interior design showrooms, outdoor stores, and boutique retailers call the Box Factory home.
